Configure Appium AI for your organization

Organization settings let you turn Appium AI on or off and set a default LLM provider for your organization in Kobiton. Appium sessions started by members of your organization use these settings without any changes to dc.ini on each host.

Use organization settings to:

  • Provide your LLM provider details to Kobiton once, instead of in every test script.

  • Avoid entering LLM provider credentials in dc.ini when Kobiton hosts your devices.

  • Turn Appium AI off for your organization from a single place.

Appium AI is not available for Public Cloud devices.

Configure organization settings

  1. Open the Appium AI organization settings in Kobiton. [Placeholder: navigation path pending confirmation.]

  2. Turn Appium AI on or off for your organization.

  3. Optional: Enter your LLM provider settings.

  4. Save your changes.

New Appium sessions use the saved settings.

The LLM provider settings are optional. If you turn Appium AI on without entering a provider, pass the provider settings in each Appium session with kobiton:* capabilities. See Override Appium AI settings per session.

How Appium AI chooses a setting

For each setting, Appium AI uses the first value it finds in this order:

  1. A capability passed in the Appium session.

  2. Your organization settings.

  3. The dc.ini file on the host running the session.

  4. The Kobiton default.

dc.ini remains supported. It sets defaults for a host and is the only way to configure hosts that are not connected to your organization in Kobiton.

Turning Appium AI on or off

Appium AI runs on a host only when both of the following are on:

  • Appium AI in your organization settings

  • LlmClient.Enabled in dc.ini on that host

If you turn Appium AI off in your organization settings, Appium AI is off for your organization’s sessions on every host. If LlmClient.Enabled is off in dc.ini, Appium AI stays off on that host even when your organization setting is on.

If your organization has never saved Appium AI settings, dc.ini alone controls Appium AI. Existing dc.ini configurations continue to work.

API keys and base URLs

An API key applies only to the base URL set at the same level or a lower level. A key from dc.ini is never sent to a base URL set in your organization settings or in a session.

If you pass kobiton:llmBaseUrl in a session, also pass kobiton:llmApiKey in that session.
